Should my child take the SAT or the ACT?
The SAT is a standardized test that students typically take in 11th or 12th grade when applying to college. The SAT is offered 7 times per year. While the SAT offers online registration options for most students, you will need to submit a paper registration form for students under the age of 13.
Fortunately, your child's performance on the SAT at this age will not have any effect on future college applications. You have the opportunity to decide whether or not scores are sent to specific programs and/or universities.
Similar to the SAT, the ACT measures student readiness for college. It is also offered 7 times per year. Students under the age of 13 must submit a paper registration form.
