Anxiety is common in gifted children. Anxiety may present as perfectionism, overexcitabilities, insomnia, an inability to relax, irritability, an inability to concentrate or focus, and/or fidgety habits such as nail biting, skin picking, shirt chewing, etc. Some children may mask their anxiety, internalizing their anxiety rather than externalizing it.
