It can be difficult to find books for gifted students. Many gifted children are advanced readers; they’re ready to read books at a higher level that are not necessarily targeted towards a younger audience.   When we curate our book lists, we keep this in mind.  The majority of the books on these lists are appropriate for a younger audience (5 or 6 years old).  They require reading comprehension skills equivalent to an average 4th/5th grader.  This is equivalent to an NWEA MAP Reading Score of about 200 to 215.  Books containing more mature content are denoted with the label “PG – 13.”
